Integration of competencies - reinforce interdisciplinar skills
The integration among competencies is more and more required, especially considering the relevance of integrated tools and strategies, at European, national and local scales, as in the case of SEAPs – Sustainable Energy Action Plans, in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors. The starting point is twofold: on the one side, the project will address the issue of integrated planning and energy planning, which is central in local, national and EU strategies; on the other side, it will address the need of specific and interdisciplinary educational tools and activities in this field.
The project will deal with energy planning issues, RES technologies, landscape and environmental assessment, energy potential mapping and governance, in order to support young professionals and experts in developing competencies in cooperation with Higher Education Institutions and Local Energy Agencies, in order to qualify the work in public sector and to support the access to job market for newly graduated or close to graduation participants.
The growing education and training needs in Europe have already been highlighted also in a number of recent Commission education and employment policy frameworks such as the Communications "Rethinking Education" and "Towards a job-rich recovery". The EU needs researchers, engineers and technicians, managers and decision-makers capable of moving forward the development and uptake of new solutions in the energy fields. Therefore, the training of these professional profiles, starting from the university level, is the main goal of the E-RESPLAN project, in view of a higher employability of newly graduated and postgraduate students, as well as of a higher quality and relevance of academic teaching and research. This goal will be pursued through two Intensive Study Programmes in the fields of energy, environment and spatial planning, one of which targeted to teachers and the other one targeted to students.
